Waiting...

Bonnie went to see the surgeon today, we were hoping she would be getting out her stitches today. But He decided to keep them in until Monday. They set up an oncologist appointment for Wednesday, Feb 6th with Dr. Nibley who works for the Utah Cancer Specialists (UCS). We got advice from my relief society president, a hospital oncology nurse, that the UCS are the best around and are great with their patients.
It is still just a waiting game until the oncologist appointment on Wednesday.

Goodnight

Dear Kevin and Bonnie,
Thank you for letting me know of your challenges and including me in the blog, so I can add my faith and prayers to the great list of resources I see supporting you. It's truly a blessing to be situated in one of the best places in the world for cancer treatment and you will be one of their very best patients!
The Fry Guest Room is available if friends or family ever need it, and I'm only a minute or two from
I-15 at 53rd South exit.

Sounds like things are moving forward. We had a great Stake Conference yesterday here in Kennewick, though Elder Perry couldn't come as scheduled due to President Hinckley's funeral. But Elder Merrill, the AA70 for our area pinch hit and did a great job. His topic-- Life throws curves at us. The curve is a tough pitch to hit, so you have to keep you eye on the ball. In this case, the ball is the "big picture," and Heavenly Father presides over that. Now is the time to be in tune with the Spirit. Heavenly Father is there, speaking to us all of the time. He quoted from that famous hymn, "How Firm A Foundation:"

"When through the deep waters
I call thee to go,
The river of wrath
shall not thee o'er flow.
For I will be with thee,
Thy troubles to bless.
And sanctify to thee
thy deepest distress."

He is with us always, especially when there is a lot on the line. He loves you, Bonnie and Kevin, and is watching out for you. And so do we, and we pray for your complete recovery. Heavenly Father is there and he hears and will answer your prayers.

I want you to know that I'm thinking about all of you. Hopefully the prayers and fasting of ward members and others will give you each a measure of peace and comfort. The blog is very helpful in keeping everyone updated on Bonnie's condition. Take care & please know how much we all care. Love, Lorri Rose
