Whats New?

We went to the surgeon's office today and the 19 staples were removed. It hurt just a little. The scar looks pretty good. He wants to see her again in 3 weeks. Her pain levels were better today until she dropped something on her stomach. So we hope that improvement continues.

Bonnie has an appointment with the Oncologist on Wednesday morning and we hope to have more information and some indication about what the next steps will be after that. We will keep you posted, pardon the pun.

We want to thank you all for the kind words and emails and comments on the blog and cards and calls and food and flowers and snow removal (a lot of snow this year). They are really thoughtful and inspiring and very encouraging. Thanks to you all. You may want to leave some last names because sometimes it is hard to figure out who says what, with so many people responding and so many friends and relatives. We are feeling strength from your fasting and prayers and encouragement.

We really like this blog too, because it greatly reduces the amount of times we have to repeat the same information. Please don't be offended if I respond to a question by asking if you have read the blog. It helps to make our lives easier too.
Until next time...

Bonnie, Kevin, Merissa and Janae,

Thanks again for keeping us posted via this blog, Merissa. It's a great service you are doing. Need any new movies yet?

I am so glad to hear your staples are out, Bonnie. That's a bit of a sting, ain't it...in doctor lingo. When they say "pinch or sting", brace yourself because you know they really mean "hurt like #$*&!"

You can move forward with your life in spite of cancer. It takes an adjustment period to realize you live in Cancer World, so many doctors and medicines and all, but I'm not so sure it's going to be too much more challenging than the health stuff you've dealt with since your terrible accident. You're a strong person, and have endured much already. Time does go by and one day the sun is brighter.

Remember--hair loss isn't a big deal...it grows back and you get to try some great hats in the meantime, and nobody will look at you weird and think "why is she wearing a hat?" They will just be sympathetic and bring you more dinners. Let 'em. (I have quite the wardrobe of hats/scarves you can borrow when/if needed. I don't think my chemo is going to cause hair loss this time...different drug.)

They have good meds to control nausea, heartburn and all the rest. Use them. Freely and frequently.

To Bonnie's family. Rub her feet. A lot. It really helps.

I pray for you. God is there for us.

Hi Bonnie and family,
Just want you to know you have been in my thoughts and prayers daily. Sunday was a special day the spirit was so strong in all the meetings. Alot of sniffling, teary sisters (some men too) it felt "different" than regular fast sunday. Thank you Kevin for your testimony. I hope you are feeling better each day. Talk to you or see you soon.
